Personality:Maggie Greene is the daughter of the farm-owner Hershel Greene and Josephine Greene, his first wife. She formed part of a mixed family, consisting of her father, her stepmother Annette, her stepbrother Shawn and her half sister Beth. By the time she appears on the series, however, her family has been reduced to only her father, Beth and herself.
Before the Zombie Apocalypse, she used to be a typical farmgirl from a very Christian family. She went to school and when the time came, she left home to go to college, though she came home during the holidays to spend them with her family. Besides her studies, she helped Hershel with some of the chores in the farm, and she's used to being around animals. Additionally, she is quite good at riding horses.
Her life and motivations changed drastically after the outbreak. Isolated from outer influence, she believed the walkers, corpses reanimated by an infection with an eternal hunger for flesh, were people afflicted by an illness, a belief shared by the rest of her family and the inhabitants of the farm. She thought that a cure would be devised and everyone would eventually get better. Because of this, she refused to kill these undead beings. It's not until the group from Atlanta arrived at the farm, that she realized the danger these living-dead corpses represented to everyone and agrees that it's necessary to eliminate them. It only takes a few seconds when she's almost killed by one to make her change her mind, and understand that her stepmother and stepbrother are gone and won't come back.
She's a very caring person, and very protective of her loved ones. She would easily risk her life if it meant the safety of her family, as well as her husband Glenn. She also cares about the group of people she's living with, however, if she must choose between the life of her loved ones and the greater good, she's not willing to sacrifice those she cares for. We have seen this in season 3, when she gives up the location of the prison camp to avoid having Glenn killed by the Governor, a man blinded by power. While she felt guilty about choosing him over everyone, she doesn't regret this decision. Yet again, we see this when she tried to stop her dad from going to tend sick people who had been quarantined, wishing to keep him away from the illness, knowing well he could help them.
Maggie is an intelligent, strong and reliable young woman. Her main role usually consists on going to scavenge for supplies in abandoned homes and stores. Since the arrival of Rick and the others, she quickly learned how to handle weapons, both knives and guns, as well as improvised ones, such as metal poles. It's not rare to see her fighting walkers, be it during supply runs, to keep the perimeter clear or when they invade the camp or living area. She can also keep herself levelheaded in important situations, trying to keep her emotions at bay if she's needed by the ones she loves. But this doesn't mean she's immune to feelings, Maggie can easily panic when something with a solution happens to someone she cares about, like the time his father's leg had to be amputated to save his life. She is trusted by those around her, to the point where she becomes a member of the council who makes decisions at the prison by season 4. She knows she has a job to do, and that the safety and peace of everyone depends on her taking the right decisions.
Even though her world has been turned upside down, Maggie still keeps a mischievous streak to her. She has a tomboyish nature, and is quite athletic, easily handling physical tasks, from riding to fighting. She can also be quite sassy when the mood strikes her, such as when she's seen flirting with Glenn. Some brief moments throughout the otherwise dramatic events of the series have shown that she used to be a fun girl, but unfortunately times when she can have fun, laugh or sing are scarce and precious now. And while her family is very conservative as Christians, she is a bit rebellious in that respect, displayed by her more liberal views about sex out of wedlock. All of this is further supported by her father describing her as having the spirited and stubborn nature of her mother.
And just like any other person, there's some less than endearing traits about her. For one thing, she can be pretty explosive when she gets angry. She'll try to keep her anger insider her, or express it silently to avoid making a big issue, but when she she holds on enough to it, it will all burst out eventually and it's not pretty. Particularly because she's not afraid to say what's on her mind. Additionally, when she feels she has been wronged by someone, especially someone she cares about, she can hold a grudge, and will take some time to "punish" that individual by treating him harshly. But Maggie has a kind heart, and if the offense was not irredeemable, she is willing to forgive.
As mentioned throughout this text, there are some very important people in Maggie's life. The first of them are her birth parents: Hershel and Josephine. Unfortunately, her mother died when she was a child, and Hershel remarried sometime after that. The young girl initially opposed to this new relationship, not wanting her father to forget her mother, and most likely she didn't like the idea of sharing him. Maggie is very close to Hershel, though she might not always agree with his opinions. She is willing to put everything on the line to make sure he is safe, and she wants to be someone he can be proud to call his daughter. Watching Hershel's murder before her eyes devastated her, especially because she's not been allowed to grieve him appropriately and was denied the time to properly bury and honor him. But Maggie's strength allows her to keep going on, so she can be reunited with her loved ones who she believes are still alive.
Besides Hershel, Maggie cares deeply about her younger half-sister Beth. As the child of her step-mother, it's likely that Maggie had a hard time accepting the younger girl's arrival into her life, being only around 6 years old. But at the current point in their lives, they're portrayed as having a very close sisterly relationship. Maggie constantly worries about her sister's well-being, always doing her best to protect her from danger. She regards Beth as being physically weaker, more naive and relatively childish in comparison to her, though she knows Beth can be strong in other ways. Because of this, Maggie tries not to put her sister in dangerous situations, such as going to scavenge supplies or having to kill zombies without a fence between them. Her first thoughts are always for her sister's safety. Like any pair of sisters, they have had their disagreements, like when Beth was younger and was shocked to find out her older sister was dating boys and having sex (she found Maggie's birth control), but both girls know they will always be there for each other. The older girl will always protect her younger sister, even from Beth's own self.
Glenn Rhee is someone else who has become just as important to Maggie as her family. She first met him in season two, when she was looking for Lori (Rick's wife) to bring her to the farm, where Hershel was treating her son Carl, who had been shot. At that moment she hardly paid attention to him, focused on the task at hand. Later on, he joined the Greene's, with the rest of the Atlanta group, at the farm. Initially, Maggie was confused about her feelings for him. It was likely she hadn't seen a young man since the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse, but she knew her father would send them away as soon as Carl recovered, making her think it would be a bad idea to get too involved with him. She gave him some mixed signals, flirting a bit with him, even having sex with him, only to later treat him as if nothing had happened. Whether she is initially attracted to him because he's the only guy her age around or because she truly likes him, is not sure, but everything changes after he saves her life and opens her eyes to the truth of the world they live in now.
It doesn't take long for Maggie to truly fall in love with him, seeing how much he cares about her. She worries about him, especially when he goes out on runs without her, and the feeling is mutual. Being together through a survival situation has brought them close, and they are very loyal to each other, neither of them wanting the other to get hurt or die. After some months of being a couple, they start to consider themselves as being married. Hershel's consent is willingly and happily given, though a formal ceremony couldn't be performed. The extent of her love for Glenn is shown when she would rather give up the location of the prison where the group lives than having him hurt or killed. Not only that, she risked her life and her health when an epidemic invaded them and she went into the quarters where the sick were quarantined to help kill the zombies created by the people who died from the illness, as well as to tend to her ill husband. Once the group splits up, her only purpose in moving forward is finding him, believing and hoping he's not dead.
Other people she strongly cared about were the employees at the farm: Otis and Patricia. Maggie must have known both of them since she was a girl, and Otis probably taught her some duties at the farm and was close to her, as it's shown she's distressed by his death. Not much is known of her interaction with Patricia, but it can be assumed she cared for her as well.
As for the Atlanta group, initially she viewed them all as outsiders, but she warmed up to her more quickly than her father, worrying when her father wanted to send them on their way. Besides Glenn, she's close to Lori and Carol, two of the females in the group. She was greatly affected by Lori's death, indirectly caused by her performance of an emergency C-section without experience. Her feeling of guilt is such that she seemed afraid to hold baby Judith until Beth began to coax her into it. As for Carol, they get along well and both help protect the group at the prison. She's confused and distraught to know Rick had to send her away to keep everyone else safe, but understands his motives. During the months they spent together, Maggie has come to respect Rick and his leadership, usually trusting his decisions, although she may not always agree with them. She knows the Greenes owe him their lives, so she does her best do her part. In general, she has bonded closely with everyone, including some of the people that joined after the first attack on the prison, like Sasha and Bob, who wind up with her when the group is separated in episode 8.
About the crimes she will be indebted with in Teleios, Maggie doesn't regard them as such. She has indeed killed many zombies, but this has been done to protect the living and to let these undead people find rest. And most of the rest of the things she has done, have been committed for the safety and survival of her family and friends. Without trespassing, looting and carrying weapons, she knows that they would have been dead since a long time ago. However, she's a responsible woman, and will do her job to make up for her debt.
Powers/Abilities:
Maggie can handle a diversity of weapons: guns, knives and improvised ones such as pointed sticks, baseball bats, or anything that can be used to kill zombies. Also, being a farm girl, she's good riding horses and taking care of animals. Maggie is also fast on her feet, and has experience in scavenging supplies from abandoned homes and stores. She may have some rudimentary medical knowledge, but mostly at first aid level.
Appearance:

Samples:Actionspam Sample:[Maggie wakes up with her head aching, hell, she doesn't even remember having fallen asleep. She stands up and carefully looks around, noticing Sasha and Bob aren't with her anymore. Instinctively, she reaches for her weapons, but her knife and gun are gone too.
What she sees tells her she's not in Georgia anymore. Instead of the wild landscape of the countryside she has come to know, she finds herself in some kind of ancient-seeming place. Not only that, but she's surrounded by people she doesn't know. Some of those people stand out among the crowd and one of them speaks, explaining where and why they are there.]
Teleios? The Two? What are you talking about? And what exactly do you mean we can't leave? I need to go back home, there are people who need me there!
[Glenn, Beth... She can't abandon them, not like that. She frowns and looks at the winged woman, trying not to look as scared as she truly feels.]
Look, it's not that I don't want to be here. The place I come from, well... it became really shitty a couple years ago, so being somewhere not crawling with... undead people... it's a bit of a relief. But I just can't leave, I have a job to do back home, we all do.
[Maggie feels tears threatening to come into her eyes, thinking about her father, her sister, her husband, her friends...]
Anyway... I work my ass off for this debt thing, and then I can go home?
Prose Sample:Maggie hardly slept during the nights anymore. The constant fear that walkers or people would find them and kill them at any moment always weighed heavily in her mind. During their time on the run, the group had been so focused on the dead that they didn't realize what the living were still willing to do, either to survive or to prove their dominance.
But the times when she did sleep were plagued by nightmares. Sometimes she would dream of her stepmother and stepbrother, dead and locked in the barn of the farm she used to call home. Sometimes she dreamed that her father or sister or Glenn having turned, and she could not bring herself to put a bullet through their heads before they made her like them or ate her flesh. But most times she dreamt of that night, when that man, the Governor, humiliated her by making her strip nearly naked and threatening to have his way with her.
She always woke up dripping in cold sweat, but was instantly reassured by finding Glenn sleeping next to her, and knowing Beth and father were safe in their own beds. She would kiss Glenn's forehead without waking him up before falling into an exhausted, dreamless sleep. Nightmares or not, her body always needs the rest to prepare for what the following day will bring.
Except that now, she has nothing to comfort her. Not since the group was forced to split up and flee the prison when The Governor attacked them. Not before he brutally murdered her father in front of her and Beth's eyes. The man was now dead, but the place they had called home for so many months was destroyed and overrun. She had not seen her sister or her husband since that day. Was it even worth it to hope they were alive and found a safe place or was she only deluding herself?
Maggie knew that the only way to find them was to keep herself alive long enough to search for them. From what she knew, only Glenn was on a vehicle, so he could be far away from this place by now. She certainly hoped so, as he was still recovering from illness. But Beth must have been on foot. She prays to God that her sister is not alone. Sweet Beth had grown up so much since they had left their home, but she had never been made to fight, never made for the cruel world they lived in now. Herself, she had Sasha and Bob with her. She didn't know or care what their plans were, the only thing that mattered to her now was to find Glenn and Beth.
